My Article on Australia's Proposed National Digital ID was Published in The Light Australia Newspaper
The Light Australia is a "Non-Profit people-funded newspaper” that can be freely downloaded, or purchased as a physical newspaper
I was recently contacted by the editor of The Light Australia newspaper to submit an abridged rewrite of my August, 2023, Substack article: ‘NATIONAL DIGITAL ID: Why Every Australian Must Reject It.’
Given that my work is not typically defined by brevity, it was a challenge to condense the original 2300-word piece into the required 1000-words. Much has been omitted, some undoubtedly superfluous, but I am immensely satisfied with the succinct impact of the final published front-page article.
The Light Australia is a free “Non-Profit people-funded newspaper” that is available to read online, and can also be ordered as a physical paper that is intended to be shared with as many as possible. The idea is to strategically leave the newspaper in public places to draw attention to uncensored information on critical issues, and to hopefully engage the curiosity of the passing eye.
A volunteer team of editors, writers, graphic designers, relay drivers, and distribution hubs have all worked tirelessly to bring forth this valuable publication. Since its inception, they have printed and circulated 1,363,000 papers. Issue 10 has a print run of 200,000 copies.
It was truly an honour to contribute, and to be given a front page allocation for my article. I invite you all to read the paper, and to be part of the growing circulation effort.
A just reward for being in the front line Digger.
I.D. bill has now been passed by the Senate. It will be voted on at the next sitting of Parliament, I think, starting on 14 May 2024. We must tell our federal M.P.s that we do not want this. This is now urgent!
See who voted for and against digital I.D. in the Senate.
