Melbourne's woeful 2022 New Year's Eve "Fireworks display" was either the result of Victorian pyro-technicians having being fired due to the mandates, or, perhaps, having being "fried" due to the "boosters" — we will never know, but that embarrassing fizzer will go down as a symbolic representation of a depressed city now struggling to express anything truly joyous.

Not with a bang... but with a whimper...
