THE FORGOTTEN RUSSIAN 'NON-AGGRESSION TREATY' Of DECEMBER 17: Rejected by the US & NATO on February 2nd
PANDEMIC WRITINGS, Melbourne, Australia (2020-2022): piece originally published March 20, 2022
THE PROPOSAL:
On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry proposed a non-aggression treaty with the US which included explicit provisions to negotiate the withdrawal of this threat.1
Article 3 proposed:
"the Parties shall not use the territories of other States with a view to preparing or carrying out an armed attack against the other Party or other actions affecting core security interests of the other Party."
Article 4 of the pact proposed:
"The Russian Federation and all the Parties that were member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as of 27 May 1997, respectively, shall not deploy military forces and weaponry on the territory of any of the other States in Europe in addition to the forces stationed on that territory as of 27 May 1997."
Article 5 said:
"The Parties shall refrain from deploying their armed forces and armaments, including in the framework of international organizations, military alliances or coalitions, in the areas where such deployment could be perceived by the other Party as a threat to its national security, with the exception of such deployment within the national territories of the Parties."
Articles 6 and 7 were more explicit on the deployment of nuclear weapons:
"The Parties shall undertake not to deploy ground-launched intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles outside their national territories... The Parties shall refrain from deploying nuclear weapons outside their national territories."
THE OUTCOME:
The State Department reply released on February 2 dismissed each of these reasonable proposals: they were planning for aggression; for war.
THE AFTERMATH:
Immediately after the treaty dismissal, Zelenskyy enthusiastically expressed his interest in aligning with NATO, and obtaining nuclear deterrence for Ukraine's security: an indirect declaration of Ukraine's intentions to initiate imminent warfare (on their terms, with their International partners).
Russia commenced their "Special Military Operation" against Ukraine on January 24th as a pre-emptive countermeasure to dismantle a much larger regional war that was being planned by the Western-bloc.
THE SAVING GRACE:
Russia prevented the Ukrainian Blitzkrieg that was planned against the people of Donbass, and the Crimean Peninsula.
Russia effectively prevented the commencement of World War 3, and the mutually assured destruction of both Europe and Russia.
Russia prevented the US Deep State plan to engulf Europe and Russia in Total War — a play that was envisioned by the warmongers to ensure that the North American landmass would remain unscathed, and continue to reign as the preeminent economic and geopolitical power on the planet: again, like in post-war 1945, rebuilding the world in its image.
Russia has just prevented this.
